Busaba, London 18.1.2012

Busaba is one of our favourite restaurants in London. It's quick, easy and the food is really good. Here is a review from our first visit: Busaba and from the second visit: Busaba.

So, we were really excited to read from Busaba's facebook page that they do cooking courses. Our flight was leaving on Sunday evening so the timetable was perfect. The course was held at Busaba Panton Street on Sunday at 10 am. The nearest tube stations are Piccadilly and Leicester.

After green chicken curry we made papaya salad (Som Tam). First we made the marinade for the papaya.

Finally we made Pandan chicken. It is chicken pieces wrapped in pandan leaf. After that the wraps are deep-fried. But first you marinade the chicken pieces.

Looking absolutely fabulous ;-)

Delicious lunch
Our chef Nick made us his own special; fish made in vacuum. So moist and tasty!

We had so much fun at Busaba! We can recommend this course to everyone who wants to learn to cook Thai food! Everything tasted just perfect. Especially the green curry paste was really really good! Fortunately we got a little jar of the curry paste to take home with us. You can find the recipes for pandan chicken and green chicken curry from Busaba's web page: Recipes.

Restaurant Busaba, London 8.7.2011

This was the second time we have been in Busaba. After a hard afternoon of shopping in a rainy weather this restaurant was a easy choice. We were well taken care during the whole meal. All the waiters were friendly and smily. Service was good, quick and polite. Just like the last time.

Busaba serves thaifood. All the dishes tasted really good. For starters we ordered Tom Kha Kai soup and Spicy Papaya salad. For mains Pauliina ordered Aromatic Curry with Coconut Rice and Mirka Shrimp Pad thai. All the portions were big and there was more than enough to eat. Great experience once again!

Busaba in english

Busaba, London
We had looked the restaurant up before hand from internet. Busaba was conveniently situated near the Prince of Wales theatre where we were going to pick up our tickets for the evenings musical. We walked along Wardour street to find the restaurant. After a whole day of shopping our feed were killing us and we were almost about to quit. But suddenly we saw a very nice looking restaurant on the street and luckily it was Busaba!
Ambience
The restaurant was pretty empty, when we arrived there at 5pm. The waiter told us later that usually in the evenings people have to queue to get seated. The atmosphere was warm and relaxed. In Busaba there are large square tables for 10 people and the idea is to share tables with others. The design was Asian with Scandinavian twist or other way around, can’t really say :-).

Food
For the starter we decided to share Pandan Chicken with Garlic and coriander root wrapped in pandan leaf (5,50 £.).It was fantastic! The appetizer was enough for two.

For the main course Mirka ordered Green chicken curry with pea aubergine and corn (8.60£) and Pauliina chose Chicken butternut squash with cashew nut and dried chili (6.80£). Food was great in Busaba. The dishes weren’t too hot but still they were very well seasoned. They also had spicier dishes for hard core chili users ;-) We were very happy that we found this lovely thai restaurant which served well made thai food in a relax but well thought atmosphere.

Service
The Service in Busaba was very good. The waiters were friendly and happy and they seemed to enjoy their work. The Service was also very quick and that suited us well cause we were really hungry ;)

Quality compared to price
Busaba is a chain restaurant and you can find them all over London. The restaurant we visited is the original one. We can only hope that we would get restaurant chains like this in Finland. Good reasonably priced food completed with nice decoration. Three dishes and few beers cost 34£. Busaba

Busaba 22.1.2011

Ruoka
Sitten pääasiaan eli ruokaan. Ruoka oli aivan täydellistä! Alkuun tilasimme todella maistuvat kananyytit (Pandan chicken with garlic and coriander root wrapped in pandan leaf 5.50£).

Pääruuaksi tilasimme vihreää currya kanalla (Green chicken curry with pea aubergine and corn 8.60£)ja kanaa ja cashew pähkinöitä (Chicken butternut squash with cashew nut and dried chilli 6.80£) Tulimme makuelämyksistä erittäin iloiseksi ;-)

Kyseinen ravintola, jossa me vierailimme on ketjun ensimmäinen ravintola Lontoossa.
