FARANG

This modern Asian restaurant welcomed us with warm and elegant ambience. The Restaurant was almost full even though it was a Tuesday evening. Service was very good and professional. The Restaurant is one of the kind in Helsinki. The only Asian fine dining restaurant in town (that we have found). This is a great place to enjoy good food with friends but also suitable for a romantic dinner.

Ingredients used in the dishes were fresh and tasted like real Asian food. Flavors were excellent. 

The courses in the restaurant are ment to be shared. The waiter recommended for two people three different dishes. 

For starters we shared 

FARANG SATAY, GRILLED BEEF 22 €

toasted peanut relish, lemongrass 

It was heavenly! The meat was cooked to perfection and the spices complimented the taste of the beef. 

For the main course we ordered 

AROMATIC NIKKO´S CHICKEN, COCONUT-CHILLI JAM 27€

Roasted cashews, coconut-chilli jam dressing 

and

GRILLED TIGER PRAWNS ‘NUOC CHAM’ 26€

Red chilli-lime dressing, Thai aromatics

Both dishes were excellent and closed to perfection. The sauce in the chicken dish was delicious. The only down side was that both main courses came at the same time and the prawns got cold before we got to them. We also had to ask the waiter to bring us new clean plates for the prawns. We enjoyed couple of thai beers (Singha) with the food. Beer was  a great choice with Asian flavours. Three courses were enough for two persons. Farang
