Bistro Helsinki 15 in english

 BISTRO HELSINKI 15

Bistro Helsinki 15 is cosy but sophisticated restaurant at Korkeavuorenkatu. The atmosphere was very nice and it wasn’t too loud to have a conservation.

The waiter recommended Prosecco for aperitive, which was great. There were four choices for starters and five for mains. Bread came in a paper bag and was served with humus. The humus was very tasty.

We chose “Tarte tatin” – goat cheese, tomato, honey melon (10,50 €) and Lobster Soup with a crab cake (12 €) for appetizers. We were very pleased with both dishes.

For the main we both chose Pasta raviolis filled with spinach and ricotta served with mushrooms and truffle butter (19,50€). Raviolis were extremely tasty. We disagreed about the amount of the truffle butter. Mirka thought the dish was too greasy, Pauliina didn’t mind. We enjoyed a glass of Chianti del Barone Ricasoli 2008, 16 cl (9 €) with the Raviolis.

After main dishes we shared some cheese. We tasted four different kind of cheese. The cheese selection was very balanced. One portion was enough for two. We chose a port wine Quinta de la Rosa LBV Port 2003 (7 €) to go with the cheese plate.

For dessert we shared a Mud Cake with hazelnut ice cream and ginger cream (9€). Mud cake was fantastic! We also had a Latte to accompany the dessert and it was the best Latte ever.

Service was laid back, afficient and pleasant. The waiters were professionals and the timing was spot on. The total bill for everything was 40 € for each. We can sincerely recommend this restaurant both dinner and lunch.
